there are moments in my life when i fail to see something worth to save on this planet...
but then there are pictures like this that remind be of beauty and grace of human body.. :)

this picture should be in dictionary right next to the word "graceful" :)

Maybe I'm wrong, but monochrome shots just seem to pull out texture and features so much more than color. My eyes were immediately drawn to the soles of her feet--such intricate, incredible detail! Just an incredible contrast to the relatively smooth surfaces of Rael's rear, transitioning then into her shoulders, head and hair, then into the "triangles." Thanks for sharing!

I agree but I don't know why. Is it just because our brains/eyes are attuned to shadow more than color?

I stopped asking and now I just enjoy it. It is fascinating that monochrome photography, which was really just a side-effect of the processes we understood at the time, is still popular. There is something eye-catching about it.

I do not get a tonal difference from switching from the small to large view of this piece.

Rael knocked it out of the park with the pose.

Why did you chose to emphasize lighting her hands.

I don't either. But I'm not going to try to tell someone "it's all in your mind" either. :D

Glad you like the shot. I was pretty happy with it, too.

This is beautiful.
I am not saying the following thing to be rude-- I'm just curious:
Did you photoshop the image at all? Not that it really looks like it, just that her body is so perfect I was wondering.
In any case--nice photograph. I most especially like her hands.

When I postwork an image I go over every pixel. I generally do minor skin clean-up - if you look you'll notice there isn't a single pimple, mole, or scar on her - and I fairly carefully remove smudges that might distract from background, floor, and props. In this case, there were screw-heads on the box that I removed - you can see where I was a bit sloppy with one on the upper left. So - yeah, I "photoshopped the hell out of it" in one sense. But I didn't change the model's shape or anything like that. Mostly because she was perfect as she was.

you are a master of lighting - in all of your efforts.

this is exceptionally nice ... almost a perfect image ... a beautiful model, her pose reflecting the delicate nature of the human female ... shoulders, wrists, hands ... truly a beautiful shot.

that being said, i wondered if the box she rests on was intentional? by that, i mean the visibility of the texture of the wood ... was it a conscious decision to 'reveal' the wood grain rather than paint it a flat color? ... seems that it would have blended better with the background. just curious...

I sort of like the texture of the wood compared to the model's own texture. That was what I was thinking...

When I change to full screen view, the toning seems to change, turning into a sepia. Is this just because of the crappy monitor at work? It never happened before...

Anyway, nice shot, I like the non-revealing pose. The lighting is flawless, adding great effect to the gentleness of the photograph.

I have no idea why the tone would shift; unless it's that there's a difference in the reduced-size version that's created by DA's uploader.

Although I don't notice so much on this piece. I notice it most in my own work, b/c I'm, of course, scrutinizing the shit out of it. :D
