When I shot the "vase" shot of Nerlande, this was the pose we tried right before. I liked it quite a bit, too, but it's just not quite as good. On the other hand, it's worth posting. Of all the shots in my "column" series this is the one I left in color. Because it just works that way.
Lighting: 2 softboxes camera right toed in toward the model. You can clearly see the angle I use on the boxes by looking at the shadow cast by the column.
I think the greatest thing about this picture is the fact that the column seems almost photoshopped in. I could imagine her in that post leaning over a railing looking out at a mountain or the sea. It's like the column is a placeholder for whatever setting could be put into place around her.
