It is listed as a "bare plate" - unlike the other ones I've been selling lately, this one is not boxed and mounted. Several people from the UK and Europe emailed me suggesting that I offer some bare plates because shipping a box-frame internationally is quite expensive. This is your chance to snap up a unique piece of art for a reasonable price. My last plate went for $26!

This is a handmade collodion ambrotype on black glass. For more information about the ambrotype process, you can read the wikipedia entry. It's unique; there are no copies and every ambrotype is different.

Yep, "post-work" consists of buffing the image with a sock before I varnish it!!
