This is using the same light set-up as for producing a fake Vermeer look like the one in "girl with kawaii bunny earring" - one softbox at a mid-distance, with 2 angled pieces of white foam-core on the right hand side of the camera, to bounce light into the shadows. It's a very simple and extremely effective lighting technique.
