This was shot using a single 25-watt screw-in $40 flash unit that I got on Ebay a couple years ago. I was going to San Francisco for a trip and had a chance to shoot with Sarah, so I just threw a few pieces of gear in my suitcase and made do. I'm generally pretty uncomfortable outside of my own studio (when you have a studio that is exactly how you want it, anyplace else seems like a huge pain in the neck) - I also took a flex-focus lensbaby and was clowning around with that. I suppose I could apologize that it's her tummy that I focused on, not her face (which is gorgeous!) but I really really liked the curve of light on her hip.
